Early Year Pupil Premium Information

We want to make sure that all children do as well as they can in their early years but we know that many children from lower income families need a boost in order for this to happen. For this reason the Government is giving extra funding to childcare providers, called the Early Years Pupil Premium (EYPP).

For every child that we are able to claim for, we can get up to £300 a year. We want to use this money to add to what we currently offer and all our children will benefit as a result.

Your child may be eligible for the EYPP if you get any of these benefits:

  • · Income Support

  • · Income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance

  • · Income-related Employment and Support Allowance

  • · Support under Part VI of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999

  • · The guaranteed element of State Pension Credit

  • · Child Tax Credit, (provided you are not also entitled to Working Tax Credit and have an annual gross income of no more than £16,190)

  • · Working Tax Credit ‘run-on’ – the payment someone may receive for a further four weeks after they stop qualifying for Working Tax Credit

We may also be able to get the extra funding if your child:

Has been looked after by the local authority for at least one day

  • Has been adopted from care

  • Has left care through special guardianship

  • Is subject to a child arrangement order.

If you think that your child could be eligible, please complete the Pupil Premium Form and return in a sealed envelope addressed to Sian Rumble.

If you have any questions or would like more information please look online at the Surrey County Council Family Information Service page on EYPP; or need help to complete the form please do not hesitate to speak to me. Any information you share will be completely confidential. This will not affect any benefits you receive.
